For children travelling alone, your airline’s staff will take care of them whilst they are in our terminal: they will accompany your child and ensure their safety throughout their journey.
Across many companies, from the age of 4 until the day before their twelfth birthday, children may travel alone as UM (Unaccompanied Minor) passengers.
Ages 4 and over
Children aged 4 to 11 inclusive will automatically be covered by this service, provided that the airline offers this option.
Over 12 years of age:
For children over the age of 12 travelling alone, airlines no longer provide this service.

Booking
When booking your ticket, You will need to let us know that your child is travelling unaccompanied. The company will then need to confirm that it has received your request.
Tip: Remember to book the UM service as early as possible, as the number of places on this service may be limited.
Travel documents
Before your child sets off, please check the entry and residence requirements for their trip.
Any child travelling without being accompanied by one of their parents must submit the following three documents :
- Identity document a valid identity document for the minor: identity card or passport; ;
- Parental consent signed by one of the parents with parental responsibility; ;
- An identification sheet along with details of the person responsible for collecting the child on arrival. That person must carry a valid form of identification.
At the departure airport
The UMs must be arrive at the airport at least 2 hours early before the flight departs (Please contact your airline to find out what arrangements have been put in place.)
At the airport, when the child checks in, they will be given a special UM pouch which he must keep with him throughout the journey. It will contain:
- Sound airline ticket ;
- His identity documents ;
- The’parental consent ;
- The fact sheet which will include the contact details of the person responsible for meeting them at the airport of arrival. It is essential that this person has a form of identification to welcome the child on their arrival.
At the check-in desk, you will be told the time and place where your child will be met. At the agreed time, a member of staff will accompany them to the aircraft.
Tip: Check in any luggage that your child would not be able to carry themselves.
At the arrival airport
On arrival, Your child is the last to arrive.
A member of the cabin crew will accompany them through the arrivals area to the person designated to meet them. That person must, without fail, show proof of identity along with his photograph.
Note: Depending on the facilities at the arrival airport, the child will either have already collected their luggage or will collect it with the person meeting them.

- Not all airlines offer the UM service. Please contact your airline.
- The UM support service is completely free of charge.
- In the event of a delayed or cancelled flight, staff will give priority to children travelling alone. Your child will remain under constant supervision, even if alternative accommodation is required.
- It is no longer possible to include children on their parents’ passports. From birth, a minor must have their own travel document.
