Your checked-in luggage is carried in the hold.
The types, number, weight and dimensions of this hold luggage are subject to various acceptance conditions depending on the airline and the regulations currently in force. We would advise you to check these conditions of carriage with your airline or travel agent.
Even if you are travelling with a piece of hold luggage, you can check in online before you even arrive at the airport. Once you have arrived at the airport, please go to the check-in desk to drop off your luggage.
OUR TIPS :
- Choose the right size: make sure your luggage is the right size for your needs. A suitcase that is overloaded may break or may not be accepted for check-in. You may also be charged an additional fee by the airline operating your flight.
- Check the weight: weigh your luggage beforehand to ensure you are within the maximum weight limit and avoid having to pay a surcharge.
- Securing your luggage: your lock or padlock must be TSA (Transport Security Administration)-approved for travel. This is because customs officials have universal keys to open them without damaging your luggage.
- Labelling your suitcases: it is compulsory to label your luggage. Make sure you write your full name on them. Remove all labels and barcodes from previous journeys.
Carriers may grant special conditions for sports equipment, certain items of kit or so-called ‘oversized’ luggage; ; You must obtain prior authorisation from your airline or travel agent to carry them.
If your luggage is too heavy or too large, special conditions apply.
This may be the case for:
- sports equipment such as a surfboard, diving kit, a golf bag or skis;
- musical instruments such as a violin or a drum ;
- parcels and boxes containing various items ;
- firearms and ammunition for hunters and competitors; ;
- luggage weighing more than 23 kg; ;
- bulky luggage, i.e. items measuring more than 158 cm (length + height + width), such as: large pushchairs, bicycles, etc.
WARNING : these criteria vary from one airline to another.
Regardless of its size, your luggage must be properly packed, protected and labelled with your name and address before it is checked in.

Certain items are strictly prohibited in the cabin. Below is a (non-exhaustive) list of these items:

- stun guns,
- objects with a sharp point or cutting edge,
- work tools,

- explosive or incendiary substances and devices.

What rules do I need to follow once I’m at the airport?
- Never leave your luggage unattended, even for a moment, or it may be destroyed.
- Please report any abandoned luggage or parcels to airport staff.
- Do not agree to carry a third party’s luggage or parcel, for any reason whatsoever.
- Label your luggage with your name, address and telephone number.
- Only pack what is absolutely essential in your hand luggage and put the rest in your hold luggage.
- Do not pack any valuables in your hold luggage.
- Please pack any fragile items carefully.
